Part-Time Work Permit in Dubai (New UAE Labour Rule) by rafomac.com

I have read and heard before that working for another company other than your sponsoring company is illegal in UAE. However, yesterday's article got me intrigued. So here's what I gathered thus far regarding part-time work permit.

Part-time work permit is for those engaged in employment with working hours which are less than the normal full-time working hours of other employees in the same job. Apparently this would allow those with a full-time job to take up a second part-time job if they have the consent of their main employer and the part-time permit is to work after hours. The requirement of pre-approval is waived if the employee has filed a labour action against the main employer.

Part-time work permits may be issued to:

  1. resident employees in full-time employment holding a valid Ministry of Labour labour card
  2. students above the age of 18
  3. government workers
  4. co-dependent sponsored residents (housewives, stay at home dads, parents, sons and daughters) holding a valid UAE residency visas
Documents required:
  1. copy of the trade license of the two companies - the main employer and the one applying for the work permit
  2. copy of the signature cards of the two companies
  3. photo of the worker
  4. copy of the passport
  5. copy of the worker's qualifications certified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, if requested
Fees:
  • AED 500 for the application fee
  • AED 3,000 bank guarantee for each work permit submitted, together with the authorization for the ministry to cash the guarantee to pay employee's dues, buy their return airway ticket or collect any fees of fines imposed on the establishment
(Note : i am not any authorized person for this Info, Just searched about it, and sharing info, if you find any mistake, please inform me. Thank you)
